~ Mandala teachers gathered recently for a teacher meeting, and here are some of the things our teachers are feeling inspired by:
Jennifer has been inspired by her morning chanting practice, finding that she can get to a deeper place of awareness by using this powerful practice.
Dhurva is inspired by the idea of tradition. As an Astanga practitioner, he uses the sequence as a way to keep it simple and to get out of the mind. He’s enjoying showing students how to flow with the body.
Erik is on a perpetual quest to create awareness. He’s asking himself, “How do I approach new experiences?” He’s using his practice as a laboratory to explore more.
Marissa is inspired by nature’s splendor these days, and how can you blame her? Her desire to be outside as much as possible is now infusing her practice.
Emily W is using her yoga and meditation practice to find her own body and mind while still devoting herself entirely to a one-year-old. And her focus on backbending to open the heart and stay connected outward has kept her engaged with the world outside her bubble.
Marzena is using nature as inspiration for her teachings these days. The long summer days are upon us, and you’ll feel it in Marzena’s class!
Emily L is looking forward to studying meditation with Jon Kabbat Zinn next week, and her teachings reflect this shift towards meditation. She has loved watching her students come in at 5:30, stressed from a long day of work, to visible unwind and let go before her.
Jolie is bringing her studies of Tantra into her teachings in the studio. She’s been journeying to The Himalayan Institute in PA, where she’s adopted new practices like a daily mantra. This mantra, chanting every morning, allows her to tune in to what’s going on in her mind and body, every day, noticing the subtle changes.
~ Essential Oils Gathering: Each Wednesday we’re meeting at 11:30 at Mandala to experiment with Essential Oils. Jolie presents a theme (ex. best oils for kids, uplifting oils, oils for pain management) and we discuss and experiment together. Check out www.youngliving.org/joliep to learn about the oils.
~ Mandala Director Jolie Parcher is featured in Edible East End!
~ Hula hooping is happening on Saturdays at 1:15. Come play outside with us! Free, open to all. Bring a hoop or borrow or buy one from us.
