Cleansing

Toxins and harmful substances can build up in your body over time through diet choices, environmental pollution and everyday stress. This toxicity not only inhibits the body’s ability to function properly but also can eventually lead to serious health problems.

What is Mandala’s Spring Cleanse?
The Spring Cleanse is an eating cleanse combining whole foods, fresh juices, Ayurvedic herbs and access to Yoga and body therapies to literally clean your cell tissues from the inside out.  A simple but specific alkaline diet nourishes your body with a nutritionally balanced combination of foods and grains to nourish health at its most basic level. Each day begins with a quart of fresh juice.  You can make it at home or go to one of several places in our community to have it made for you.  You will eat up to three whole meals a day which include quinoa, millet, vegetables, fruits, almonds and walnuts. You can use raw olive and flax oil, maple syrup, honey, Braggs aminos and more.  Each day you will also drink a lemonade-like master cleanse.  For 3 days you will add a delicious citrus based drink to your morning which supports a gentle liver flush.  And at the core of the ten days you will eat green food only with the guidance of delicious satisfying recipes. The Cleanse adds back where you began eating everything off of the Master Food List and enjoying your new found recipes with awakened taste buds!

As we once again enter into a transitional season, it’s time to cleanse your body. All cleanses can be done either individually or in groups, and they are designed to help bring your body into balance. Cleanses are beneficial because they help “get out the gunk of living in this world,” says Jolie Parcher, who runs the cleanses here at MAHA.

Possible benefits of this cleanse include:
Weight loss
Relief from allergies
Relief from constipation and digestive variability
Lessening of swellings and inflammation
Vibrant Skin
Eliminating bad breath
Increased energy

How to get started:

Nature’s Way
In early spring the deer first chew on bitter roots to clean excess mucus off the intestinal mucosa. Then once the mucus from winter and holiday foods are cleared with your daily dose of dandelion root or leaf tea, it is time to fertilize the intestines with brand new flora. This is done with the leafy greens and sprouts that lace the countryside during the months of spring. Once the flora is properly germinating in your gut then it is time to flush the lymph system that drains your intestines. This is done naturally in nature in perfect sequence. Some of the last foods harvested in spring are the berries and cherries. These are nature’s lymphatic movers.
It is a one, two, three punch every spring.

  1. Clean out the old mucus with bitter roots.
  2. Fertilize good bacteria with leafy greens and sprouts.
  3. Destagnate the lymph that drains this brand new intestinal mucosa with berries and cherries.

One of the main functions of our intestines is to funnel waste out of the body via the GALT - Gut Associated Lymphatic Tissue. So the last step, which may be the most important for maintaining optimal health, is a healthy lymphatic system.

If your lymph is stagnant which starts in your gut here are some of the conditions you may be experiencing:
Allergies, rashes, itching skin, swollen hands or feet or holding onto to more water, Breast swelling and tenderness around the cycle, headaches, joint pain that moves around the body, swelling around the abdomen, cellulite, breast lumps, fibroid tumors, ovarian cysts, sore feet in the morning, sore throats, chronic colds, weak immunity, constipation, fatigue and lack of mental clarity.

Physical Benefits of Cleansing:

  • bolsters the immune system
  • generates healthy tissues in key organs such as the liver
  • purifies the blood
  • restore your body’s ability to regulate and heal itself

We live in a toxic world, with more chemicals than our body is built to handle. By cleansing, we are assisting the natural processes of the body to get rid of the things we don’t need. Cleansing helps us to physically do this, and the emotional and spiritual benefits resonate this action.
